Freebie Week 2 | DIY Printable Eid Lantern

Assalamualaikum my lovelies! Our Eid Lantern template 2016 is a little different to previous years. I decided to make it a bit more simplified to accommodate for our younger audience (under 3’s) as the usual lantern was a tad harder for them to construct.

You can still download my previous years Eid Lanterns below, they are more suitable for over 4’s as its a bit more complex in putting it together. I have included step by step photos to make your life easier :)

2013 Eid Lantern (Confetti: Lime, Yellow, Orange)

2014 Eid Lantern (Golden Marrakesh: Mint and Gold)

2015 Eid Lantern (Geo Scandi: Black and Pink)

If you’re planning to decorate your lanterns like how I’ve done in these photos, you will also need some coloured paper at home to print the template on, so it makes cutting a lot easier. I have attached a plain lantern template for you to download. I reckon alternating the sprinkles lantern with a plain coloured pastel lantern looks better visually as it breaks it up rather than having way too many sprinkles going in on your living room, right?! Haha!

Its only a week away until Eid 2015, how time flies Subhanallah! Usually in the last week of Eid, I am tremendously busy baking, shopping, wrapping, cooking, sewing, decorating and a million other things we, as Muslim mums do to make Eid a very special day for our family.

I am a bit obsessed about gift giving and making it look presentable. This year, the adults are getting my home baked cookies and kids are getting toys of course! These gift tags are so versatile, you can use it as a sticker on a cookie jars as I have, or use it to finish off your wrapped gifts.

FREEBIE #2 | Eid Bunting Flags

RAMADAN FREEBIE WEEK #2

Printable DIY Eid Bunting Flags

*You may download this printable at the end of this post*

Ever since my cousins wedding, my love for mint green sparked! Also, a few months ago I released my “Gold Collection” prints and they were a big hit alhamdulillah so I thought of offering mint + gold themed printables with a Marrakesh inspired pattern. I hope you enjoy crafting these bunting flags, they are so easy to do and take under 30mins to get done!

Materials needed for this project:
1. This printable template
2. A4/8×12” White paper (200gsm/110 lb +)
3. Ruler
4. Cutter and scissors
5. Hole punch
6. Ribbon or string

Cut the flag template using a cutter/scissors and ruler.

Use a hole puncher to make 2 holes on each flag.

Arrange them to make “EID MUBARAK”

Cut your string to the desired length (measure where you want to hang them first). Thread the string/ribbon through. The first letter, you need to put the string from the top (see pic above).

As a tip, once I thread the ribbon through, I put some sticky tape at the back to hold its position so when I am hanging these up, the ribbons and flags stay put in place :)

Start decorating…

Eid Mubarak!
